205 days living in the hospital
10 surgeries
6 ambulance rides

3 rounds of induction chemo
2 rounds of high-dose chemo with stem cell transplant

28 MRIs
12 CT scans
52 X-rays

20 craniospinal proton radiation sessions
10 focal proton radiation sessions (all under General Anesthesia)

21 days on a ventilator

60 miles walked through underground tunnels between CHOP and the proton center

Approximately 52,056 episodes of Bluey, Stillwater, and Frog & Toad watched

Countless bad coffees from the family lounge, grating middle-of-the-night IV beeps, and dreaded Q4 vital signs taken

Priceless friendships forged on the oncology floors

And one incredible Bea.

We arrived home in Bedford on Friday night, and it’s been pure bliss since then. Our ears were literally ringing from the silence! We’ve been relaxing on the porch, laying in the grass with the doggies and the chickens, and overall just resting and healing.

Bea will start outpatient PT soon, and we’re hopeful to make some strides towards walking again.

We’ll return to CHOP in July for scans to see what effect the radiation had and what comes next.

But for now, after eight months of hospital rooms, we are soaking in every moment at home <3
